Privacy notice

How this website handles the information you share when you visit it or get in touch about a booking.

Who we are

This website is the personal website of India “Alanis” Browne, esports athlete and speaker (“we”, “us”). For any question about this notice or your information, email Indiaalanis@outlook.com.

What we collect

When you email us. If you send a booking or press enquiry, we receive the details you choose to include, such as your name, email address, organisation, event details and budget.

When you visit the site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the website secure and working.

Embedded video and podcast. The speaking video is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube only sets its own cookies once you press play, under Google’s privacy policy. The Watch & Listen page shows an Apple Podcasts player, which loads from Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.

Cookies

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. WordPress may set strictly necessary cookies if you log in to the site. Links to social media take you to other websites, which have their own privacy policies.

How we use your information

We use enquiry details only to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to arrange and deliver the booking. This is based on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries and on taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement. Server logs are used only for security and to keep the site running.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. It is handled by the services that run this website and our email, such as our web hosting provider, and shared with others only when needed to arrange a booking you asked for, or when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to handle the enquiry and any resulting booking, and to keep reasonable business records. After that they are deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. To do this, email us at the address above. If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
